Meet the Team

We take the time to listen to your story and find a treatment style that works for you. We use a combination of adjustments, muscle work and rehabilitative strengthening that fits into your life.
We are not here to just crack your back and get you out the door. We take our time with you in 30, 45 or 60-minute appointments so we can get the results you need.
We desire to create a plan that will see you through pregnancy and postpartum life in optimal health – so you can be there for your family!

Dr. Lisa Jewell

How she can meet your chiropractic care needs:

Dr. Lisa says of her clinic: "Our goal is to be a resource for moms in the Portland and Vancouver area. We believe that our bodies can do amazing things when given the right care and routine to continue at home."

She chooses treatment for her patients based on a wide array of techniques she has learned over the years. Each body and situation is different, and each requires special care. Over the years of seeing hundreds of patients, she has honed in which techniques work best in any given situation. Her specializations to supplement chiropractic adjustments include, but are not limited to:

  • Webster technique certification
  • Infant craniosacral therapy certification
  • ICPA pediatric training
  • Core and pelvic floor rehabilitation training through Institute for Birth Healing, Herman and Wallace, Global Pelvic Health Alliance and The Tummy Team
  • Diastasis recti rehabilitation
  • Training in Lactation Support with Puddletown Lactation IBCLC
  • Spinning Babies trained
  • A.R.T. (active release technique) and Graston myofascial release certification

Dr. Lisa likes to give her patients the tools to take charge of their health. When our medical system has become sick care, her ambition is to bring health back to our care. Each visit includes a thorough history and examination or follow-up, muscle work, a chiropractic adjustment, stretches and exercises with instructions for self-care at home. During the appointment is your time to heal and be nurtured. She believes this is so important and wants to help you make YOU a priority.

Make yourself a priority!

Uniquely Tailored

Do you sometimes feel like there are not enough hours in the day? That some days you don't have the time to stretch, let alone exercise? Do you ever get to the point that you're tired of being in pain and feeling disconnected from your body? Maybe you had a traumatic birth, or perhaps the labors of everyday life are wreaking havoc on your body.

You are worth the investment to get out of pain.

Dr. Lisa is here to work with you and find the balance of what can help improve your life and what fits into that life. "Getting healthy" can feel like a daunting task. She works with you at your pace, giving you tools that you can use from this point forward while providing your body the treatment it needs.

She has been a practicing chiropractor in Portland, Oregon since 2015 and loves calling this area home. Originally from Wisconsin, she completed her Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer West in San Jose, California. She fell in love with the West Coast and the more holistic approach people take to their health. To Dr. Lisa, Portland has the perfect mix of the West Coast lifestyle and Midwest community.

Lisa Jewell - Board Certified Chiropractic Physician

I love working with all types of people but my passion is working with mommas during and after their pregnancy and their little ones. I believe the postpartum mom is sadly under-served in our culture, and I  love to be a resource for you to have the birth and recovery you want and deserve.

I believe that the body speaks very clearly once we learn how to listen. Often we have spent far too long disconnected from our bodies, so the work we do together — especially prenatally + postpartum — can be a powerful catalyst to restore your relationship with your body.

Kelly Overly, Office Manager

Proudly serving the Portland childbirth community

I worked in the Oregon and Washington wine industry for many years before I felt a calling to be of service to families during a time of incredible growth. On my path to becoming a midwife, I was delighted to find my home in doula work. I work as a birth and postpartum doula, teach childbirth education, basic lactation and newborn feeding classes, am a certified lactation counselor, and am thrilled to be on the team at Jewell Chiropractic as the office manager.

I gave birth to my first daughter in December 2019 and my second in February of 2022. I have a personal understanding of how strange it is to be a brand new parent during a pandemic.

When I am not busy supporting birth and new families, I enjoy cooking, jazz, working on my loom, creating macrame, attempting to grow a garden, shopping for vintage dresses, and dancing around the house to bad pop music; all while chasing around two delightful kiddos.
