1 Day Childbirth Education Class

This is a 6-hour, 1-day course for birthing parents and their partners. This empowering, evidence-based class, focuses on the role body mechanics play in late pregnancy and during the timeline of labor and birth. Taught by two of our favorite seasoned doulas, this class includes effective comfort measures, coping strategies, birth environment and pain management options, as well as Jewell Chiropractic's "Pushing to Protect the Pelvic Floor" Technique. Demonstration and practice of movement and body positions for before, during and after baby arrives will be included in this fun, active class. This class will leave you feeling empowered with valuable information for birth and new parenthood.

Lactation Class

Taught by certified lactation counselor Kelly Overly, in this 2 hour class you will learn the basics of lactation and how it applies to feeding your new baby! We will cover the hormones and stages of lactation, how much to feed your newborn in the first weeks home, the basics of pumping, bottle feeding, expected and normal infant weight loss, feeding frequency, breast/chest care, infant positioning, and getting a good latch.

Babywearing 101

In this short workshop, families can learn all about baby wearing—the benefits, safety considerations and practical techniques for how to use the baby carrying device that you already own, as well as information about other carriers available. Taught by doula and mother to 5 happily worn babies, Sarah Doggett.


Comfort Touch for Labor

Massage can be helpful in reducing anxiety in labor, helps the laboring person to feel an increased sense of control during the birthing experience, and has demonstrated an increase in overall satisfaction. It has also been shown to decrease pain during all stages of labor! In this two hour class you’ll learn about the ways touch can be helpful in labor. Taught by Licensed Massage Therapist and Birth Doula Julia Martin, you and your partner will practice how to comfort a laboring person using a variety of massage techniques.

Postpartum Survival Class

This class is for the couple who wants to have tools and strategies for the postpartum and child raising season of life. This parenting thing is HARD, and what we hear more than anything else from parents is how their relationship is struggling. You're touched out, sleep deprived and overwhelmed. You want to want to connect with your partner but you want to be alone in a dark quiet room more.. what's a parent to do? This 2 hour class will help you and your partner put safeguards in place to prevent the rage and disconnect that is SO common among new parents. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, if you want help in supporting your relationship after baby this class is for you!

Infant Massage and Communication

This hands-on class is great for infants starting around 4-6 weeks. Using touch to communicate with baby is wonderful for learning to listen to your baby, their brain development and immune system as well as:
  • Calming both baby and caregiver
  • Understanding baby’s cues and needs
  • Helping with gas, colic and constipation
  • Developing a deeper bond—great for non-feeding parent, adoptive parents and other caregivers
The daily practices learned in this class can be used from infancy into childhood to continue to enhance your relationship with your child. Taught by Certified Infant Massage Instructor and Doula, Sarah Doggett.

Additional Therapies

Compression Therapy

Enjoy a quiet and relaxing 30 minutes of gentle compressive leg massage, a great add on before or after your chiropractic or massage treatment. Compression massages has been shown to decrease muscle tension and inflammation, Increase range of motion and flexibility, increase circulation, and reduce swelling and water accumulation. This treatment is safe and effective for pregnant people and post C-section to help with related swelling and discomfort.

Breast Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound (micro-massage and heat) can be beneficial in treating both blocked milk ducts and mastitis as it can help to open the ducts to reduce pain and swelling and increase circulation to improve the flow of milk.

Graston and Cupping

Graston is a soft-tissue technique using rounded stainless steel instruments to mobilize and release scar tissue and adhesions that may be restricting normal motion and function by getting into the tissue at this fascial/fiber level.
